ABOUT HACHETTE IRELAND
Hachette Books Ireland is the publishing imprint of Hachette Ireland – a division of the UK & Ireland's largest publishing group, Hachette UK, which in turn, is part of Lagardère, the international communications company.
Founded in 2002 as Hodder Headline Ireland, with a staff of three, it has quickly become a major force in Irish publishing, with a string of bestsellers and a growing staff.
Destinations by Sheila O'Flanagan (2003) was the company's first book.
We have since established a strong reputation for working closely with authors to establish their vision and then working tirelessly with them in helping them to achieve it.
Notable fiction bestsellers include Deirdre Purcell's Children of Eve, Ciara Geraghty's Saving Grace, Roisin Meaney's The People Next Door, Tana French's Into the Woods, and both of Sheila O'Flanagan's collections of short stories Destinations and Connections.
We also have had a string of bestselling non-fiction titles, including Maura Murphy's memoir Don't Wake Me at Doyle's, Munster rugby legend Anthony Foley's autobiography Axel, David Murphy and Martina Devlin's exposé of the banking crisis Banksters and Cynthia Owens shocking story of her childhood in the Dalkey house of horrors, Living With Evil.
Other successful titles such as Vanishing Ireland, its follow–up Vanishing Ireland: Further Chronicles of a Disappearing World and Lansdowne Through the Years have shown our commitment to producing high–quality publications for a wide audience.
